Meet Dr. Eric Gaughan

Freedom from your anxiety and depression is within reach

Anxiety and depression can be so overwhelming and disruptive that they rob us of our mental peace and our ability to experience joy.

Our emotions seem like they’re beyond our control and have taken over our life, leaving us feeling stuck and hopeless, like we can’t break out of the constant emotional loops that are blocking us from having the life we want.

I’m Dr. Eric Gaughan, and I’m grateful to have been of part of helping so many people discover that relief is possible.

If you’re thinking life shouldn’t be this hard, you’re absolutely right.

It shouldn’t. Let’s work together to start feeling better now, and developing skills to stay happier and healthier in the future.

My Experience

As a psychologist in practice for the last 10 years, I’ve been blessed to be able to meet and help men and women who feel trapped by anxiety and depression to find emotional freedom and mental peace, so they can recapture joy in their life.

By helping clients understand the things that are driving their worry, sadness, frustration, and unhelpful or unhealthy ways of coping and showing them new ways of viewing and handling these problems, it’s my pleasure to watch my clients learn the tools needed to achieve relief that lasts and develop confidence in their ability to effectively manage their anxiety and depression on their own.

My Background

  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Georgia
  • Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Center for Behavioral Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri

I’m a psychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology, which is the branch of psychology that specializes in assessing and treating mental health disorders and problems. Prior to opening a full-time private practice, I served as a staff psychologist at a large, multi-site hospital and mental health center in Kansas City.

In addition, I served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at Rockhurst University where I taught undergraduate courses and as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine where I provided training and supervision in cognitive behavioral therapy to psychiatry residents.
